a. Do I have to be online to create my photobook?

No! You do not have to be online to create your photobook. You can take your time to design your photobook using the downloaded PhotoBookWorld software without running up line costs. You only need to go online when you want to upload your photobook via the Internet. >>> to the top

b. Do I need prior knowledge of image editing?

No. That's the whole point of this software. It is as easy to operate as a camera. You don’t need layout knowledge or experience of image processing to be able to obtain first-class results. >>> to the top

c. How do I upload my photos into the photobook?

Open up PhotoBookWorld and look on the left-hand side for a selection of your folders. Select the folder with the desired photos. The images will then appear below the folder selection. Now you just have to drag the best photos into your photobook using the mouse (drag & drop). >>> to the top

d. How many photos will fit in my photobook?

You can put as many photos in your book as you like. Thanks to the option of putting in your own picture frames, the extended number of pages (up to 160) and the maxi format (30 x 30 cm), very large picture collections can also be stored in one book.>>> to the top

e. What format should my digital images have?

Only RGB-JPGs can be used with our software. >>> to the top

f. What quality do my photos need to be?

An averagely good digital camera currently has between four and eight megapixels. This value describes the number of pixels that make up a photo. A photo taken with a four megapixel camera, for example, will have 4,000,000 pixels.
For a full-page print of a photo on a page of the book, a four megapixel camera is generally sufficient.
Preferably, full-page or double-sided photos in a maxi format book (30 x 30 cm) should not be less than 6 mega pixels.
If an image is too small for the desired place-holder, the program will inform you of this. >>> to the top

g. How can I see what the quality of the uploaded images will be?

Select a picture folder in the software. The saved pictures are displayed. Above the photos, click on the "Sort and Filter" symbol and select "Size". The pictures are sorted according to height and width and the pixels are shown under each picture. Calculate the possible printing sizes as follows: Width or height in pixels: 60 = printing width or printing height in cm.>>> to the top

h. Can I also upload scanned images into my photobook?

If you have analogue photos that you would like to include in your photobook, that’s not a problem.
Essentially, a scanned image is no different to a digitally photographed image. You should, however, make sure that after scanning you sharpen the image a bit and adjust the tonal values. You can find out how to do this from the help section in your image editing software. Please also make sure that you use a resolution of at least 300 dpi for scanning. >>> to the top

i. Can I also load text files or graphics into my photobook?

As long as the files are stored in JPEG format, they can be incorporated without any problems. Text can be copied into the text frame provided, using the clipboard. >>> to the top

j. How can I see whether the text I have entered is printed completely?

Just click on “Preview“ in the software and you can see how your book will look when it is printed. If the text here is not the desired display, either shorten the text, adjust the type size or simply enlarge the appropriate text frames until you achieve the desired format. >>> to the top

k. How do I save my created photobook?

You can save your created photobook at any time by clicking on ”File“ and then “Save”, or on the diskette in the menu bar. >>> to the top

l. How long will my photobook remain saved at PhotoBookWorld for repeat orders?

Your ordered photobooks will be archived by us for 3 months. This means that it is quite easy and possible to reorder over the Internet for the next 3 months (from receipt of initial order) through our “Repeat orders“ section. You do not have to resubmit your order file. >>> to the top

m. How many photobooks can I save at the same time?

You can save as many books as you want. However, you must bear in mind the capacity of your hard disk. >>> to the top

n. I have completed my photobook. How do I now order it to be printed?

After you have laid out your book as you would wish, you can start the order wizard. Click on the order symbol (an open book) or select “Order“ from the menu bar. You will then be guided through the order procedure by the order wizard.
If you have not yet saved your book, you will be requested to do so by a dialogue box. Then enter your data and, if relevant, your voucher code. After you have completed the order, the order file will be located in your hard disk.
You can either send us the completed book via the Internet, or burn it onto CD and send it to us by post. >>> to the top
